ACT Scores

One of the stresses of many would-be college students is whether or not their ACT scores are good enough to get into the university of their choice. The importance of ACT scores ranges from one institution to another, but that definitely does not mean that you should neglect them altogether.

In fact, everyone should try their best to achieve the highest score that they can on the ACT’s. While it is not the only factor that is examined by universities, it is one of the best for helping them decide between one student and another.

In a world where nearly every student has a list of accomplishments to show the university, how do they differentiate between the extra-curricular activities of two students? Often times they will refer to their testing scores.

Keep in mind that many schools make their ACT data public, so allowing students with low scores in will bring down their school average.

The ACT consists of four different parts. Those parts are English, Reading, Mathematics and Science. Each of the categories will receive a score between 1 and 36. Those four scores are then averaged to find their total ACT score. The average score of most who take the test is 20. Anything higher than that is considered to be above average.

There are very few who are able to achieve a perfect score on the ACT. Those that do usually attend some of the top colleges in the nation. So what is a good ACT score? Try to shoot for something above 20, the higher the better.
